How to Bid on Vehicles on the G3 Website as a Buyer

To bid in a sale you will need an active account and to be logged in to your MyG3 page - if you are unsure, please read more about logging in here.

To 'win' a vehicle you will need to either bid on vehicles during a live auction event, or using the 'bid now' feature.

Bidding on a Live Sale

To bid during a live sale, click the red banner at the top of the screen to enter the sale (this is usually active around 15minutes before the start of a sale). Head to the lane with the vehicle you want to bid on - either Red Lane or Black Lane.

Each vehicle will appear one by one in Lot Number order and the live auctioneers will introduce each vehicle before starting the auction for that vehicle.  We recommend having the Video Stream on (read how here) to have the live video and audio as the sale continues.

Once the vehicle you are looking to bid is active, locate the 'Bid £x' button and be ready to use this button to bid at the next price - as this is an auction, each new bid will overwrite the last and the highest bidder (or last bid) will 'win' the vehicle. Only bid if you are comfortable bidding this amount as you are bound by the terms & conditions (which you accept upon entry to the sale event).

The bidding history will be shown above the 'bid' button, so you are able to see competing bids and if you are the highest bidder. Once you have bid, the website will log your bid. If you are out-bid you can either bid again, or press 'I'm Out' which lets the auctioneer know you no longer want to bid on this vehicle.

Bidding on Bid Now Vehicles

Bid Now' vehicles are lots that have been through a previous sale but not sold yet, giving you an opportunity to bid on the vehicle before it is offered in the next sale.

To 'Bid Now', simply head to this section of our website which can be found on the home page like the red banner above. You are able to see all the vehicle information, images, inspection reports and G3 Assured reports to decide what to bid for the vehicle.

Click the 'Bid Now' button and enter your best bid for the vehicle.  This bid will be put to the vendor, and if approved, one of the team will be in touch and raise the invoice because you will have bought the vehicle. If you are unsuccessful you will be given a 'must be' price from the vendor to either re-bid, or wait until it is offered in the next sale to bid again.
